Marco Rubio Will Not Save GOP Or Tea Party Presidential Nominee.

Marco Rubio will never get the Latino support that is anticipated by the Republican Baggers. The Cubans in Florida have little or no connection with the millions of Hispanics across the nation. Most Republicans and Tea Partiers lump all Hispanics into the same category and that will be their downfall again in 2012.

Rubio represents nothing but a few rich Cuban-Americans from Miami. He does not represent Hispanics, especially Mexican-Americans who dislike him like all other conservative racist, Latino-phobic Republicans.

As a Latina, I find it insulting that the GOP/Tea Party would attempt to trick Hispanics by waving their Latino puppets in front of us. Rubio may have a Hispanic heritage and last name, but he's far from understanding what Latinos want and need. Marco Rubio won't help the GOP/Tea Party beat Obama. - Cihuapilli

Ok Latino Voters, I Hope You Are Reading This Or Have Heard About This By Now.

Romney Doubles Down on Dream Act

When you have illegal immigrants that were brought to this country when they were infants or toddlers, they have attended school here, maybe even come college and know no other country as home other than the USA, the GOP answer, including presidential hopeful Mitt Romney is to “send them all home”.

As an adult I know that you resolve problems by treating the root cause “not” by attacking the side-effects. How difficult is it for human beings go act like adults. When it comes to the Dream Act, the GOP/Tea Party and its supporters act as though it’s the end of the world. This nation is not under attack by “illegals” as they call them so quit acting like it. It’s not these students fault that they happened to get a bit more out of the education system than your own kid did. It’s not their fault that they recognize that an education is an essential tool to do well in life and your lovely children don’t. In addition, the U.S. undocumented are not hurting the economy, but you know who or what is? Halliburton, Bain Capital, Hedge Funds, some conservatives, some bankers and lawyers. Stop using the undocumented as a scapegoat for things they have nothing to do with much less control over.

As for Mitt, I’m sure he and anyone else who supports his rhetoric will have serious regrets for making remarks like this in the general elections. Let there be no mistake, Romney will attempt to change his position or as I like to say “flip-flop” on what he said at the debate for latino votes. However, once he gets the nomination, Romney will find some way to “reflect” and “evolve” back to his original position. Check out the following story..Mitts tap dancing has already started.

Romney flip flops on DREAM Act: “DREAMers good enough to die in the military but not good enough for a degree?” (Full Story)

Lloyd Doggett Record Proves He Stands Up To Republicans.

Doggett’s been creating opportunities for Latinos for decade’s, however let us all remember that it’s all about experience, not race. If it ain’t broke, why fix it?

Texas Rep. Joaquin Castro is not an evil politician but he just doesn’t represent democratic values. He’s not “all” Republican, but just enough to say he’s not a good Democrat.

The rise of the Republican Party, and elimination of a two-party political system in Texas, has minimized the importance of drawing districts that provide African Americans and Hispanics with the chance to elect a candidate of their choice. Reading the article and comments below makes me and others wonder if Joaquin Castro is more interested in just getting elected than serving those he is supposed to be representing. Can we count on Joaquin Castro to support Democratic principles? It’s difficult to believe he would when you have GOP and other conservative businesses donating money to his campaign.

I believe a little attention to the political process is called for here by voters. I promise you, doing so will go a long way to improving your lives. -Cihuapilli

Why I Am Now Even More Dogged for Doggett
By John-Michael Vincent Cortez

I am a young, Latino elected official - and I want to see more Latinos, especially young ones, in elected office at all levels of government. Not only is an increase in Latino representation warranted given our demographic reality, but it is also generally in the best interest of having a government that substantively represents the communities it serves. However, in the case of the newly created Congressional District 35, I argue that Hispanic community interests could not be more substantively and effectively represented than they are currently by Congressman Lloyd Doggett. For this, and many other reasons, if this travesty of Republican gerrymandering is to stand, I firmly believe Congressman Doggett is the best candidate to represent CD35 in Washington. Help Stop American Censorship!

LatinaTNT Blog is proud to join the fight for a free Internet.

On Wednesday Jan. 18th thousands of sites will go dark to protest SOPA & PIPA, two US bills racing through Congress that threaten prosperity, online security, and freedom of expression.

The issue here isn't protecting copyrights, everyone agrees to that, it's the method of enforcement that lawmakers have written into the law. As written the law would allow a site to be taken down if one user illegally upload copyrighted content.

Think of it this way, should the government be allowed to close the business you work at, taking away your job, because a co-worker, unknown to your/their boss, illegally used a copyrighted song as background music in a powerpoint presentation?

Should the government be able to shut down a university because one student plagiarized a research paper, using it as their report for a class assignment?

That is what SOPA and PIPA will allow.

It's Never The GOP Or Tea Partys Intent, Is It?

Kansas Republican House Speaker Mike O'Neal joins the ranks of other Republicans that have made it a habit of hurling insults and uncomplimentary remarks at the President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, then making a phony apology after the damage is done. O’Neal, an ignorant sap, hates the fact that the First Lady is a beautiful, strong black woman who's more intelligent and articulate than him, and uses a Holy Book to justify his hate towards the First family.

Republicans used to be the party of fiscal responsibility but ever since Reagan took office each Republican president has left the white house with a huge debt. We have been spending money we don’t have since Reagan, and only now when Obama takes office do Republicans start to become concerned. Where was their outrage when W Jr. was creating this economic disaster? I have no issues with the Republican ideology. The problem is there are not many Republicans practicing it.

Speaker O’Neal apologizes for forwarding email that calls Michelle Obama “Mrs. YoMama”

Topeka — House Speaker Mike O'Neal, R-Hutchinson, on Thursday issued an apology for an email he forwarded to fellow House Republicans that refers to first lady Michelle Obama as "Mrs. YoMama" and compares a photograph of her to a picture of the Grinch.

"Twins separated at birth?" the subject line of the email says.

The email includes a picture of Mrs. Obama next to one of the Grinch. It has been making the rounds on the Internet. Mrs. Obama's hair appears to be swept up by the wind, and O'Neal writes, "Sorry, just had to forward this latest holiday message! I've had worse hair days but this is pretty funny."

The forwarded portion of the email also states, "I'm sure you'll join me in wishing Mrs. YoMama a wonderful, long Hawaii Christmas vacation — at our expense, of course." The Obamas spent the holidays in President Barack Obama's home state of Hawaii.

O'Neal said he forwarded the email "too quickly missing the text included in the body of the email." He added, "To those I have offended, I am sorry. That was not my intent."

Earlier on Thursday, however, Alyson Rodee, who is O'Neal's communications director, defended O'Neal.

"Political cartoons are a part of American culture. It's hard to see how Mike O'Neal poking fun at himself and forwarding a lighthearted political cartoon about the first lady's extravagant spending of taxpayer funds during a time when many Americans are financially struggling is newsworthy," Rodee said.

But Kansas Democratic Party Chair Joan Wagnon said the email forwarded by O'Neal was "highly offensive, disrespectful and unacceptable." She added, "Regardless of how he feels about President Obama's politics, Speaker O'Neal's decision to promote language demeaning Mrs. Obama is simply wrong. The fact that his communications director thinks this is just `a lighthearted political cartoon' is appalling."

Earlier this week, the Lawrence Journal-World was sent an email that O'Neal had forwarded to House Republicans that referred to President Obama and a Bible verse that says “Let his days be few and brief.”

Rodee said that that email was referring to the president’s days in office.

The email, which has been posted in various places on the Internet, refers to a bumper sticker that reads “Pray for Obama. Psalm 109:8.”

Psalm 109:8 says, “Let his days be few and brief; and let others step forward to replace him.”

The email states: “At last — I can honestly voice a Biblical prayer for our president! Look it up — it is word for word! Let us all bow our heads and pray. Brothers and Sisters, can I get an AMEN? AMEN!!!!!!”

Both of the forwarded emails were sent from O'Neal's private email address.
